Peer Wellness Specialist Training
Peer Wellness Specialist Training is currently being offered monthly, the second and third week of the month (80-hours) at the Bridges to Change office on Foster.

All of the trainings are two weeks, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm. In the case of holidays, training is extended into the Monday of the following week. Trainings are fully in-person.

Kelli Haynes, BS (they/she)
Kelli Haynes is the Training Coordinator for Bridges to Change. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology along with a Peer Wellness Specialist certification. They started their career teaching Guidance and Counseling at Junior Secondary School and doing Community HIV Education in Botswana. She went on to teach life skills to youth aging out of foster care in Central Texas. Following that they ran an after-school club in Guyana for orphans and vulnerable children. She, then, moved on to teaching HIV outreach workers and case managers across Texas continuing education in Harm Reduction, Motivational Interviewing and HIV/STI education. In 2021, Kelli moved to Portland where they worked for the Multnomah Health Department mobile syringe exchange as a Community Health Worker. She has spent the last few years writing the Bridges to Change’s Peer Wellness Specialist training program and is excited to finally be bringing it to life in the classroom. Kelli enjoys teaching, learning and talking to new people.
