This month, we are honored to introduce you to Dr. Judy Belk, Bridges to Change Board Member and monthly Housing Hero donor.
Dr. Belk is an international speaker and seminar leader who holds the American Speech-Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in both Speech-Language Pathology and in Audiology. She has been Department Chair of Special Education in a Portland, OR-area high school and an adjunct professor in graduate programs of local universities, teaching courses in child development, child and adolescent psychology, abnormal psychology and special education.
She has long been involved with agencies which offer services to individuals needing treatment to understand and overcome forces which drove them to make unhealthy and perhaps illegal choices in their lives. Judy’s dual role as a leader for the organization, and as a monthly donor, highlights her dedication to our vision of health and housing for all. Together with her fellow board members, Judy has helped Bridges to Change grow into the organization you see today.
“Bridges has historically been a community leader in embracing newest thinking about treatment and housing for people with mental health and/or drug addiction while also supporting and empowering staff to accomplish incredibly challenging work. Now Bridges has become a national leader on these topics,” Judy shared.
As a member of the Housing Heroes monthly giving program, Judy ensures we have the resources to respond to the immediate needs of the communities we serve. Judy is proud to support BTC and shares that “for every one person who successfully completes Bridges’ programs, not only has the person achieved success, the community then has a productive, contributing member.”
Thank you, Judy, for your impact and the many ways you support Bridges to Change!
If you are inspired by Judy, we invite you to join her! Your support, whether it’s through monthly contributions or through volunteer efforts, can make a significant difference in the lives of those who need it most.
